Markets :: Basic Chemicals :: Petrochemicals :: Propylene PetroVietnam Begins Propylene Shipments from New Refinery10:15 PM MST | November 4, 2009 | Natasha Alperowicz PetroVietnam has begun shipments of propylene from its recently recommissioned oil refinery at Dung Quat, Vietnam. The 140,000-bbl/day refinery, Vietnam's first, was commissioned earlier this year but it suffered a broken valve in a fluid catalytic cracker. The problem was rectified by Technip, the engineering contractor that built the refinery, last month. The refinery is also designed to produce 150,000 m.t./year of propylene, which PetroVietnam plans to sell to Marubeni until PetroVietnam builds a 150,000-m.t./year polypropylene facility...
