Pennsylvania to Subsidize Braskem Investment at Marcus Hook

Braskem will receive $15 million in state support from the state of Pennsylvania for the acquisition of the propylene splitter assets at Sunoco's Marcus Hook, PA refinery. Braskem plans to process propylene through the splitter for use in its adjacent polypropylene plant at the Marcus Hook site. “When Sunoco announced last year that it would be closing its Marcus Hook refinery, it affected more than the jobs at the refinery,” says Governor Tom Corbett.
