METI: Global Demand for Petchem Products to Rise

The Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry in Japan (METI; Tokyo) says that according to a study done by the Chemical Division of METI’s Manufacturing Industries Bureau, global demand for petrochemical products is expected to pick up, since the world economy has been showing some signs of recovery since the second half of 2009. The panel, which studied the trends in global demand for and supply of petchem products up to 2014, says that the demand for ethylene derivatives, propylene derivatives and aromatic products is expected to increase from 2% in 2010...
