Honeywell's UOP MTO Technology Selected by China's Jiutai Energy

Honeywell says its UOP subsidiary’s methanol-to-olefins (MTO) technology has been chosen by Jiutai Energy (Zhungeer, China), a subsidiary of Jiutai Energy Group (Linyi City, Shandong Province, China) to convert methanol from coal into olefins. The process converts methanol to ethylene and propylene—which will then be used in the production of films, packaging, plastics, and other petrochemicals. Jitutai will produce 600,000 m.t./year of ethylene and propylene at its facility at Ordos City, China, which is expected to start up in 2014...
