Fire halts production at petchem complex in Thailand

Refiner and petrochemicals producer IRPC (Bangkok), formerly Thai Petrochemical Industry, said today that a fire at its vacuum gas oil hydrotreating unit (VGO/HT), which provides feedstock to its crackers mainly for propylene production, has shutdown the facilities. The VGO/HT unit is at the company’s Tumbon Choengoen plant, in Rayong Province. The fire occurred at 6 pm on Monday.
