ExxonMobil Propylene Leak May Have Started in April, TCEQ Says

ExxonMobil Chemical’s Baytown, TX olefins unit suffered a leak in its propylene tubing on June 2, releasing about 35 lbs of propylene, according to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). The tubing leak was isolated within 30 minutes, and there was no impact on production. However, TCEQ now says that ExxonMobil's preliminary data released on June 8 indicates that the tubing leak may have been occurring since April 12.
