BASF Reorganizes its Petrochemicals Division

BASF says it is reorganizing its petrochemicals division effective July 1, 2009. The new structure will have four instead of six business units and will improve efficiency. "Customers will benefit from a reduced number of interfaces and a broader portfolio of the respective business units," the company says.   The restructured organization will include Basic Petrochemicals Europe, which will focus on the ethylene chain. It will include cracker products and industrial gases as well as alkylene oxides and glycols in Europe.
