Honeywell dehydrogenation processes selected for isobutylene, propylene projects in China

UOP, a Honeywell subsidiary, has announced that its C4 Oleflex process has been selected by Shandong Huachao Chemical Co. (Dongming, China) to produce isobutylene, a key ingredient for fuels and synthetic rubber. The planned facility will process 200,000 m.t./year of isobutane. Separately, Zibo Qixiang Tengda Chemical Co. (Zibo, China) will use the UOP Butamer process to transform normal butane to isobutane; and UOP's C3/C4 Oleflex process to convert isobutane to isobutylene, and propane to propylene for the production of plastics, Honeywell adds.
