Sunoco Sells Remaining Phenol Unit to Goradia Capital for $106 Million

Sunoco says it will sell its phenol manufacturing facility in Haverhill, OH to Goradia Capital (Houston) for $106.5 million. The deal is part of Sunoco’s previously announced effort to focus on its downstream refining and logistics businesses. The deal is expected to be completed by the end of 2011 and leaves Sunoco with only cumene capacity, which is produced at its Philadelphia refinery. The Haverhill plant has the capacity to produce about 650 million lbs/year of phenol, 397 million lbs/year of acetone and 240 million lbs/year of bisphenol-A. Sunoco has...
