JLM Sells Production Assets

JLM Chemicals (Blue Island, IL) says it has sold its cumene and phenol manufacturing facility to Blue Island Phenol (Blue Island), a limited liability company formed for the purpose of the acquisition. Financial details were not disclosed. The plant, located at Blue Island, has capacity to produce 150 million lbs/year of cumene; 95 million lbs/year of phenol; and 57 million lbs/year of acetone. Plastics Engineering Co. (Sheboygen, WI), a long-time purchaser of phenol produced at the Blue Island site, and Blue Island Phenol share the same owner, JLM says. JLM...
