Teijin and partners to dissolve para-xylene joint venture TS Aromatics

Teijin and its partners, Showa Shell and Mitsubishi Corp., will dissolve their para-xylene (p-xylene) production and marketing joint venture TS Aromatics (Matsuyama, Japan). Sources at Teijin tell CW that the jv agreement had been due for renewal at end of March but the partners decided not to renew. Instead, Teijin, a producer of polyester fiber, which requires p-xylene as feedstock, will continue to operate the business on its own as of next month.   The jv, owned 50.1% by Teijin, 44.9% by Showa Shell, and 5% by Mitsubishi, operates a plant at...
