Markets :: Basic Chemicals :: Petrochemicals :: Para-xylene Para-xylene Plant in China to Be Relocated6:23 AM MDT | August 10, 2011 | Deepti Ramesh A para-xylene plant at Dalian, China will be relocated after a dike near the plant was breached earlier this week by high waves from a tropical storm. Fears of a possible chemical spill at the Fujia chemical plant located 50 meters behind the dike prompted city officials to decide to relocate the plant. The breached dike has been repaired and no chemical leaks were reported, says Li Wancai, mayor of Dalian. The local government plans to investigate the cause of the dike breach. Details of the relocation plan will be worked out after a comprehensive investigation... This information is only available to Chemical Week subscribers. Forgot your user ID or password?
