Larsen & Toubro awarded para-xylene plant contract in India

Larsen & Toubro (L&T; Mumbai)  has been awarded a 10-billion Indian rupee ($167.7 million) contract to build a para-xylene plant for a leading oil refiner in India, the company announced today. L&T has signed a memorandum of understanding to carry out construction work, including civil and mechanical work as well as erection and installation of the facility. L&T says it will mobilize about 25,000 workers and 600 staff for the project which will be executed over a period of 30 months.   The company declined to reveal the client's identity...
