Korean Firm Installs ExxonMobil P-Xylene Technology

S-Oil Corp. (Seoul) has completed the installation of ExxonMobil Chemical Technology Licensing’s Pxmax technology at S-Oil’s Onsan, Korea refining and petrochemical complex, to increase para-xylene production. The technology, used for selective toluene disproportionation (TDP), provides S-Oil with a p-xylene enriched mixture at Onsan that can be processed further into commercial-grade p-xylene.
