Brazil takes steps to alleviate high cost of production

The high cost of production in Brazil, due in part to expensive raw materials, energy, and high taxes, has been a central concern for domestic producers, according to speakers and attendees at the 32nd annual meeting of the Latin American Chemical Industry Association (APLA), held this week in Rio de Janeiro. But the Brazilian government is making some progress toward alleviating certain conditions, Pedro Wongtschowski, president of the Ultra Group, tells CW.
