Methanol Cancer Research Suspended After U.S. Officials Identify Problems

EPA has suspended work on four of its cancer risk assessments after a National Toxicology Program (NTP; Research Triangle Park, NC) report identified concerns about research conducted by the Italian laboratory Ramazzini Institute (Bologna). EPA did not specify the questions NTP has about the underlying work done by Ramazzini, but they are related to its cancer research on methanol.
