UOP Provides Methanol-to-Olefins Technology for Nigerian Complex

UOP say that Viva Methanol will license the methanol-to-olefin (MTO) technology jointly developed by UOP and Norsk Hydro (Oslo), as well as the olefin cracking process developed by Total Petrochemicals and UOP, for a previously announced petrochemical complex to be built at Lekki, Nigeria. The Lekki facility will be the world’s first commercial-scale use of these technologies, UOP says. Viva Methanol is a subsidiary of Eurochem Technologies (Singapore).
