U.S. Firms to Study China Coal-to-Methanol Venture

Synthesis Energy Systems (SES; Houston), an energy and technology company, says it plans to build a coal-to-methanol plant in China in a joint venture with an undisclosed U.S.-based multinational chemical company. A project development agreement has been signed with the multinational to carry out feasibility studies and devise plans for developing the project. Financing and other details were not disclosed.
