September Start up for Petronas ‘Mega’ Methanol Plant

Petronas says that its Petronas Methanol (Labuan) subsidiary has started commissioning its ‘mega’ methanol plant at Labuan, Malaysia. The company has fired up the plant’s package boiler, the largest in Asia. It marks the start of commissioning activities for the plant’s eventual commercial production, scheduled for September, Petronas says. Construction of the plant began in 2005.
