The company has fired up the plant’s package boiler, the largest in Asia. It marks the start of commissioning activities for the plant’s eventual commercial production, scheduled for September, Petronas says. Construction of the plant began in 2005. The plant uses Lurgi’s mega methanol technology and has a production capacity of 5,000 m.t./day, or 1.7 million m.t./year. Methanol produced at the plant...
