GPIC reports higher production in the first half of the year

Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (GPIC; Manama, Bahrain) has reported its six months’ production and export results, saying that production of its three major products—ammonia, urea, and methanol—was up on the corresponding period last year. Output of ammonia in the first six months of 2014 was 2.0% higher, at 227,000 m.t.; urea production reached 360,000 m.t., an increase of 7.0%; and methanol production rose 3.5%, to 225,000 m.t.   Announcing the results, Abdulrahman Jawahery, president of GPIC, said that the company exported 557,000...
