Chinese Firm Breaks Ground on Methanol Plant

China Blue Chemical, a subsidiary of China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC), has broken ground on a Rmb1-billion ($146 million) project to build an 800,000-m.t./year methanol plant at Dongfang, Hainan Island, China, media reports say.
