Celanese to Build Large Methanol Plant at Clear Lake, TX

Celanese announced today its intention to construct a methanol production facility at its Clear Lake, TX acetyls complex. The company says that as one of the world’s largest producers of acetyls it plans to utilize its existing infrastructure to capture the opportunities created by abundant and affordable U.S. natural gas supplies by backintegrating to methanol.
