Celanese Closes Methanol Plant; Forms Acetyls Partnership

Celanese says it has shut down its 850,000-m.t./year methanol plant at Edmonton, AB. The company had previously announced it was shutting methanol production but kept the plant running following an agreement to supply methanol to Methanex for the first three months of this year.
