ECHA launches consultation on proposed revision of classification and labeling of methanol

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) has invited interested parties to comment on a new proposal for harmonized classification and labeling on methanol. The public consultation will be open for 45 days and will end on 13 December. Italy has proposed that reproductive toxicity be added to the existing harmonized classification of methanol. The proposal is based on scientific evidence suggesting that methanol has adverse effects on the development of the unborn child, ECHA says.
