UOP and Total Provide Technology for Nigerian Methanol-to-Olefins Complex

UOP and Total Petrochemicals say that Viva Methanol Ltd, a subsidiary of Eurochem Technologies (Singapore), will license the companies jointly developed technology for a previously announced petrochemical complex to be located at Lekki, Nigeria. This will be the world's first commercial-scale use of the methanol-to-olefin (MTO) process developed by UOP and Norsk Hydro and the olefin cracking process developed by Total and UOP.
