Markets :: Basic Chemicals :: Petrochemicals :: Ethylene U.S. June Ethylene Contracts Fall 16% from May Levels11:45 AM MDT | July 3, 2012 | Lindsey Bewley North American ethylene contracts for the month of June have initially settled at a decrease of 7.25 cts/lb, to 39 cts/lb, on lower spot ethylene values as well as decreased demand. The deal represents a nearly 16% fall from May contracts. Market sources say that a few units at Gulf Coast steam crackers have recently gone down for various reasons. Sasol’s Lake Charles, LA unit took a 10-day turnaround in the last part of June, but was in the process of restart this past weekend.
