Taiwan conditionally approves petchems project on mainland China

The Taiwanese government earlier this week approved construction of a $15-billion refinery and petrochemical project on mainland China under certain conditions, CW has learned. The Gulei Petrochemical complex, a previously announced 50-50 joint venture between Sinopec and a group of seven Taiwanese companies, will be located on the Gulei peninsula at Zhangzhou, Fujian Province.
