Sibur Signs Ethylene Contract with Technip …

Sibur-Neftekhim, a Sibur (Moscow) subsidiary, says it has signed a contract with Technip Benelux (The Hague) to expand an ethylene plant at Kstovo, Russia. The previously announced project will be carried out in two stages, Sibur-Neftekhim says. Capacity will be raised from 360,000 m.t./year of ethylene, to 450,000 m.t./year by 2010. The ethylene unit’s original technology was provided by engineering firms based in the former Czechoslovakia. Technip has since installed several furnaces.
