Sasol awards FEED contract to Technip for ethane cracker project in Louisiana

Sasol awarded Technip a contract to supply front-end engineering design (FEED) for an ethane cracker on the US Gulf Coast, Technip announced today. The cracker, to be located at Sasol’s Lake Charles, LA  site, will produce an estimated 1.5 million m.t./year of ethylene. Technip’s operating center at Houston will execute the FEED project, which is scheduled for completion by the end of 2013. Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
