Qapco plans to expand Mesaieed operations

Qatar Petrochemical Co. (Qapco; Doha), an 80-20 joint venture between Industries Qatar and Total, is planning to expand capacity of its Mesaieed, Qatar–based cracker complex by investing 1.2 billion Qatari rials ($329.5 million), according to local reports citing Mohammed Yousef Al Mulla, CEO of Qapco.   Qapco plans to add 400,000 m.t./year of ethylene capacity at Mesaieed, which would bring the company's total there to 1.2 million m.t./year.
