PetroLogistics May Be in Talks to Build Ethylene Unit on Bayer's WV Land

PetroLogistics, owner and operator of the world’s largest propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant, may be in talks to buy or lease some of Bayer’s 1,460 unused acres in West Virginia to build an ethane cracker. Bayer announced late last year it is looking to lease or sell unused land at Institute and New Martinsville, WV, the most viable locations for a cracker, for producers to take advantage of ethane produced from shale-gas deposits in the Marcellus shale play.
