Some of the ethane feedstock will initially be diverted from an existing Olefins 1 cracker, which will undergo maintenace. The switch in feedstock is necessary following a decision by the Thai government to suspend 65 projects at Map Ta Phut, due to their owners' failure to conduct health impact assessments.
