MarkWest and Sunoco to Build Ethane Pipeline to Sarnia

Markwest Liberty Midstream and Resources (Houston, PA) and Sunoco Logistics Partners (Sinking Spring, PA) say they will build an ethane pipeline from MarkWest Liberty’s Houston, PA processing and fractionation complex to Sarnia, ON. The pipeline project, to be named Mariner West, will transport ethane produced in the Marcellus Shale play to the ethane-short region of Eastern Canada.   Mariner West is being developed at the request of Marcellus producer customers and is supported by Sarnia ethane consumers, the companies say.
