LyondellBasell to Permanently Shut Olefins Plant in Texas

LyondellBasell says it will permanently close its Chocolate Bayou olefins complex near Alvin, TX by August 4. The plant, which has capacity to produce 1.2 billion lb/year of ethylene and 725 million lb/year of propylene, has been idled since mid-December 2008. chocolate Bayou: LyondellBasell’s Chocolate Bayou olefins complex near Alvin, TX will permanently shut on August 4.
