(NPC; Tehran) has brought onstream two large manufacturing complexes at Assaluyeh, Iran. The official inauguration, held yesterday in the presence of president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, saw the start up of Morvarid Petrochemical complex, also known as Olefins 5. The complex, which came onstream a year later than originally scheduled, has capacity for 500,000 m.t./year of ethylene. It was originally destined to be built at Kharg Island.
