Equate is a joint venture between Petrochemical Industries Co. (PIC; Kuwait City), Dow Chemical, and the local Bubyan Petrochemical and Qurain Petrochemical Industries. The project included an ethane cracker designed to produce 850,000 m.t./year of ethylene; a 600,000-m.t./year ethylene glycol (EG) plant; and a 450,000-m.t./year ethylbenzene/styrene (EBSM) facility.
