Europe's ethylene producers hope to defend August prices despite oversupply

Europe's ethylene producers expect to be able to defend current contract price levels despite a long market balance, as the European industry prepares for the scheduled turnaround of several production units during the summer months and into the fall, according to IHS Chemical's latest Europe/Middle East Light Olefins Market Advisory Service.
