Waiting for recovery: Greater volatility has caused producers and buyers alike to adopt a cautious outlook. Demand for petrochemicals has slowed in Europe after a strong rebound in 2010 and early 2011, amid signs of a weakening global economy and growing sovereign debt concerns in the U.S. and Europe, as well as lower energy and feedstock prices.
