China Approves Sinopec-Kuwait Petroleum's Refinery and Petchems JV

China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC; Beijing), China's top economic planning agency, has approved a previously announced $9-billion refinery and petrochemical joint venture between Sinopec and Kuwait Petroleum, according to local reports. The news follows environmental and technical approvals of the project by the Chinese government last year.
