Markets :: Basic Chemicals :: Petrochemicals :: Ethylene Bidders Line up for Qatar Cracker10:57 AM MDT | May 27, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Three groups of contractors have so far submitted bids to build and supply technology for a previously announced ethane and naphtha cracker at Mesaieed, Qatar, reports say. The cracker and an associated derivatives complex will be owned and operated by a 70-30 joint venture between Qatar Intermediate Holdings (Doha), a Qatar Petroleum affiliate; and Honam Petrochemical (CW, Feb. 4, p. 15). The cracker will have capacity for 900,000 m.t./year of ethylene. The bidders are Linde in partnership with Samsung Engineering; KBR with GS Engineering & Construction...
