Markets :: Basic Chemicals :: Petrochemicals :: Ethylene Aither Gauges Interest in West Virginia Ethylene, Acetic Acid Project5:19 PM MDT | June 21, 2012 | Lindsey Bewley Aither Chemical (South Charleston, WV) says it has launched an open season to determine possible interest in ethylene supply from a potential catalytic ethane cracker in the Kanawha Valley region of West Virginia. Aither says the project could provide up to 600 million lbs/year of ethylene, 300 million lbs/year of acetic acid, 80 million lbs/year of carbon dioxide, and 40 million lbs/year of carbon monoxide. Production could begin in early 2015, and Bayer will assist in the effort to evaluate third-party interest in supply, Aither says. The open season will run...
