Weak tire demand worldwide puts pressure on butadiene and SBR prices

Weak tire demand has resulted in falling butadiene and styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) prices, according IHS Chemical's most recent Market Advisory Service: Global C4 Olefins & Elastomers report. In Europe, butadiene demand from derivatives in sectors such as tire, automotive, and construction declined significantly. The outlook for next few months will still be bearish for butadiene unless demand recovery is seen from the SBR sector, IHS Chemical says.
