Markets :: Basic Chemicals :: Petrochemicals :: Butadiene Petchem Production Up, But Inventories Down2:00 PM MDT | July 30, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff U.S. petrochemical production during the fourth quarter rose 14% year-on-year, to 48.2 billion lbs, but total inventories fell 3% from the year-ago period, to 5.7 billion lbs, says the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA; Washington). Production was up for most petchems, except for butadiene and styrene, NPRA says. Butadiene and styrene production was down 22% and 4%, to 860 million lbs and 2.5 billion lbs, respectively.
