Nylon Demand Remains Strong in China

Nylon-6,6 feedstocks have been in short supply, driven by force majeure at European and U.S. plants, including Rhodia and Invista, says Maack Business Services (Zurich). Nylon-6,6 feedstock shortages have significantly limited development to meet increasing global nylon-6,6 fiber demand, at 2.5%/year, Maack says. Growth for nylon-6,6 fibers in China will be over 10%/year with future availability of feedstocks, and previously announced feedstock projects in China by Rhodia and Invista.
