Markets :: Basic Chemicals :: Petrochemicals :: Butadiene NPRA: Olefins Production Continues to Increase10:50 AM MDT | August 18, 2010 | Lindsey Bewley U.S. olefins production rose sequentially in the second-quarter of 2010 by an average of about 3.7%, according to the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA; Washington). Ethylene production rose 2.7% from the first-quarter, to 13.0 billion lbs, while butadiene increased about 3%, to 903 million lbs. Meanwhile, propylene production was up about 5%, to 7.9 billion lbs, NPRA says. Year-over-year olefins production continues to increase.
