IHS WPC 2014: Butadiene demand to outpace supply in 2013-18

Butadiene demand growth is expected to outpace crude C4 production over the 2013-18 period, marking a return to more "historically typical market conditions," said Bill Hyde, senior director/olefins and elastomers at IHS Chemical, speaking at the IHS World Petrochemical Conference (WPC), held recently in Houston. Butadiene supply and demand are disconnected, Hyde said.
