Davy Licenses BDO, THF, and GBL Processes to Two Chinese Firms

Davy Process Technology (DPT) says it has licensed technology for projects by two Chinese companies. Nanjing Bluestar New Chemical Materials (Bluestar; Nanjing) will build a plant producing 55,000 m.t./year of butanediol equivalent product as a mixture of 1,4 butanediol (BDO) and tetrahydrofuran (THF), at Nanjing. The plant will use DPT’s ester hydrogenation technology to produce BDO and its coproduct THF from maleic anhydride feedstock.
