Contracts for the month of October settled at a decrease of 30 cts/lb, to $1.40-$1.45/lb. The settlement represents a decline of 18% from September. The drop in October contract pricing was expected, as global spot butadiene prices have collapsed in recent weeks. U.S. butadiene producers nominated contract price reductions of 15 cts/lb, 20 cts/lb and 25 cents/lb in addition to the first nomination of 30 cts/lb. One of those suppliers—which...
