Butadiene Prices Slump on Sluggish Demand

North American butadiene prices have plunged in recent weeks, driven by lower demand and sluggish buying interest. Contracts for the month of October settled at a decrease of 30 cts/lb, to $1.40-$1.45/lb. The settlement represents a decline of 18% from September. The drop in October contract pricing was expected, as global spot butadiene prices have collapsed in recent weeks.
