Braskem Starts Up Butadiene Expansion at Triunfo

Braskem has started-up its 100,000-m.t./year butadiene expansion at its Triunfo petrochemical complex in Brazil. The company announced last year that it would spend about R300 million ($180 million) to expand its current butadiene capacity of about 105,000 m.t./year at the site. The company previously said the expansion would optimize the integration of its operations and add value to its raw materials chains.   The company already operates a 175,000-m.t./year unit at Camaçari.
