Vopak upgrades aromatics' storage capacity in the Netherlands

Vopak (Rotterdam) has completed upgrading its benzene and pyrolysis gas (pygas) storage capacity in its terminal at Botlek, Netherlands. Total seabound throughput of benzene, toluene, and xylenes and pygas in the extensive Rotterdam-area cluster adds up to almost 3 million m.t., Vopak says. The figure includes handling at terminals, production plants, and ship-to-ship shipments.   Following the upgrade, the Botlek terminal offers 56,000 cubic meters of dedicated storage capacity for benzene and pygas in 14 tanks of 4,000 cubic meters each.
